Stages (trimester) of Pregancy

The medical science has divided human pregnancy in three different stages just for the convenience of studying the different progressive levels in the fetus and the mother’s health. These three phases are medically known as three trimesters comprising of three months each. Each of these trimesters brings new changes. As the pregnancy advances, various sensations as well as various physical signs are usually experienced by the woman. With every month passing by, the fetus in the womb also develops. The First Trimester: The first trimester comprises of initial 12 weeks of the pregnancy i.e. from week 1 to week 12. During this phase of the pregnancy the woman usually feel progressively focused on herself as well as on the changes that are taking place in her body. The uterus is just above the pubic bone at 12 weeks of the pregnancy. During this time only the embryo that initiated as tiny cluster of cells turns into the fetus and all that vital organ systems start developing.

The Second Trimester: The second trimester comprises of next 12 weeks from 13th week to 26th week during which the pregnancy develop into more noticeable to others. The woman becomes more conscious regarding the changes taking place in her body; typically such changes make you more reliant on others like your partner’s support is rather significant for you. During the second trimester phase only the woman experiences the fetus movement in her womb making he more focused on its developments.

The Third Trimester: This trimester consists of the last twelve weeks of the pregnancy i.e. 27th to 42nd week. During the late third trimester, most of the women experience the burst of energy and start necessary preparations for the child. She may still experience various dreams about her child specifically if it’s the very first pregnancy.
